MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of Pegasus Special Riders is to facilitate healing and empowerment in the lives of physically, mentally and/or emotionally challenged individuals through a variety of equine assisted therapies.
Pegasus Special Riders is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization providing equine assisted therapy to physically, mentally and/or emotionally challenged individuals. Equine assisted therapy is the use of the horse to achieve a variety of therapeutic goals including cognitive, physical, emotional, social, educational and behavioral. Pegasus is a volunteer-driven organization. There is a registration fee of $120 per 6 week session that is payable at the first lesson of the riding session. We provide these services with the generous help of individuals, clubs, corporations, grants, fund raising and in-kind donations. We have clients residing in Stephenson, Lee, Ogle and Winnebago counties, coming from the Village of Progress, Jack Mabley Developmental Center, Kreider Services and private recommendations.
