Pegasus Special Riders
QUARTERLY ROUNDUP

The mission of Pegasus Special Riders, Inc. is to facilitate healing and empowerment in the lives of physically, mentally and/or emotionally challenged individuals through a  variety of equine-assisted therapies.

DIRECTOR'S DETAILS

The riding season has once again ended at Pegasus, but what a year it has been. We have seen one of our buildings moved, another barn put up, drainage tile in the fields, and once again experienced the generosity of our surrounding communities, volunteers and donors.  Our Horseshoe Ball fundraiser held Oct. 22nd at the Rochelle Country Club brought in just short of $40,000! ($39,867 to be exact.)  What a great event!  That type of participation motivates us to have an even better event for you to attend next year. To each and every one of our riders, volunteers, and supporters,  may you have the best holiday season ever.   I look forward to seeing all of you in the spring…..

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

It’s that time of year already when leaves are gone, horses coats are growing, and volunteers noses are running!  In other words, it’s time to end lessons for the year!  This last session is always unpredictable as to the weather, but so far so good.  Our last lesson for the year was on Thursday the 17th of November.  I think everyone, including the horses are ready for a break!

Pegasus had an extremely successful Horseshoe Ball and we wish to thank everyone who attended, placed ads in the program booklet, donated goods for the silent auction as well as the live auction and bought raffle tickets.  Without you it would have not been as successful and we appreciate all the efforts of everyone involved.

All of us at Pegasus, especially the board of directors, wish you a happy, healthy, and prosperous holiday season and New Year.

See you in the spring!

Donna L. Fellows
Board President

SOMETIMES A SMILE HAPPENS IN A FLASH
BUT THE MEMORY OF IT CAN LAST A LIFETIME

Valerie Cullen-Reece
Pegasus Volunteer

A year ago, a beautifully anomalous woman was taken from this world.  Her name was Valerie Cullen - Reece.  Her place in this world was invaluable.  Her vivacious attitude spread like wild fire to everyone around her.  With a positive attitude and a beautiful smile she changed the lives of many.  She left behind precious memories for each who loved her.  For that we are grateful.  Her endless gifts of love, respect, courage, friendship, intelligence and wisdom, beyond her years, will never be forgotten.  She will be remember by many and missed by all who knew her. A brief flash of her memory will always keep her smile and laughter alive.
