Pegasus Special Riders  Therapeutic Riding Center, Oregon Illinois. Pegasus Special Riders is an organization that provides children and adults with special needs an activity that is both therapeutic and fun, in a safe, supportive, non-competitive environment. Each client's weekly lesson includes both riding and care of the horse, so a relationship can develop between the person and the animal.
  • All activities are closely supervised by trained instructors and volunteers.
  • Physical therapists and other medical experts assist with the program as needed.
  • Teaching methods, safety standards, and all other aspects of the program are guided by the principles of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association. (NARHA)

Pegasus Special Riders which has been operating since 1997, is funded entirely by contributions and grants. We depend on a network of volunteers that perform all of the required duties such as working with the riders, caring for the horses and facilities, raising funds and providing the necessary administrative support.  Please consider offering your time, talents, and/or financial support of this unique therapeutic experience to individuals who face challenges on a daily basis.
